OUR APPROACH
Our Approach
Every engagement starts with a clear understanding of what you want from the process. We build it around your goals and your timeline, and the senior team stays hands-on from the first meeting to the close.
We also put AI and modern tools to work so we move faster and see more, while holding your information to strict security and confidentiality standards. The technology sharpens the analysis, but it never comes at the cost of your privacy nor information.
Jed Dunn
Managing Director
Jed Dunn (James E. Dunn, Jr.) advises owners and leadership teams on sales, acquisitions, and the broader corporate decisions that shape where a company goes next. He provides corporate advisory services through J. E. Dunn, Jr. LLC and was previously a Managing Director at Newport, LLC, a national advisory firm, where he co-founded the Mergers and Acquisitions practice.
He brings an operator’s perspective alongside his advisory work, with more than two decades of chief executive responsibility. Jed served as chief executive of two North Carolina companies that both reached successful exits: as CEO of Piedmont Hematology Oncology Associates, where he led the sale of the practice to an integrated health system and managed the sell-side diligence and integration, and as President of Coleman Resources, which he repositioned from a job-shop printer into a contract manufacturer of specialty products. He began his career in corporate lending at First Union, now Wells Fargo. That background shows in how he advises: patient, candid, and focused on what a transaction means for the business and the family behind it, not only the headline number.
Jed’s board experience includes Lead Independent Director of Guerrilla RF (OTC: GUER), a founding board member of AxNano, a board member of the James G. Hanes Memorial Fund, and a director of Triad Growth Partners. He serves on the Greensboro board of the Association for Corporate Growth, is a long-time Vistage member and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, a frequent speaker at industry and community events, and a co-author of 4th Quarter Champions: Business Owners Edition.
A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jed graduated in Economics from Washington and Lee University, where he later served as a Trustee. He holds a certificate in Mergers and Acquisitions from Columbia University and is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA).
Jonathan Campbell
Vice President
Jonathan Campbell advises owners and leadership teams on mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and financings. He spent more than four years in the Technology, Media and Telecom group at Bank of America in New York, most recently as a Vice President. His experience spans initial public offerings, buy-side and sell-side M&A, private capital raises, and debt financings across digital infrastructure, business technology services, software, media, sports, and telecommunications, including emerging areas such as AI, cloud computing, and machine learning. That background informs how he builds valuations, tests assumptions, and prepares a company and its story for the scrutiny of sophisticated investors and buyers.
Jonathan also brings an owner’s perspective. He is co-founder and chief financial officer of a winery he helped build from the ground up, where he has raised capital, structured financing, set go-to-market strategy, and led expansion across multiple states. Having sat on the other side of the table, he knows what it takes to start something from nothing, and he brings every client the same care he would want for his own company.
Before his career in finance, Jonathan competed professionally in Major League Soccer, spending three seasons with the Chicago Fire before winning an MLS Cup with the Seattle Sounders.
Jonathan earned his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, with concentrations in investment banking and corporate finance, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he played soccer and graduated with highest distinction.
